2 Year Old! Hooray!

 Our little man turned two years old yesterday!  
It is amazing what he's learned to do this year! 

New Skills
  • Walking
  • Running
  • Walking up and down stairs all by himself
  • Singing along with his favorite songs
  • Eating with a fork and spoon
  • Drinking out of various sippy cups and regular cups
  • Eating every kind of food around
  • Swimming
  • Sliding and swinging and climbing at the playground
  • Kicking and throwing a ball
  • Talking - we went from no sounds and words to many, many words and even phrases!
  • Recognize most shapes, animals, and colors
  • Able to follow one and two step directions
  • Knowing several letters and numbers
  • Being in Nursery
Favorite Moments:
  • When lil D' stood in the middle of the family room with his hammer giving a speech that sounded like Khrushchev
  • When lil D' met Great-Grandma Shouse
  • Watching him go down his slide for the first time
  • The first time he said  Da and Mom and meant John and me
  • Swimming in the "big pool" and the pool in the back yard
  • Watching lil D' with as stack books "reading" - he does this a lot and it never gets old!
  • When lil D' got his big red car for Christmas - the look on his face was priceless!
  • Anytime we're playing hide and seek, singing, running around the house, or watching him play with the big kids
  • Bath time!

  • Going to the park, music class, and library story time!

 We love you Lil' Man, Monkey Boy, Peanut, Silly One!  You bring joy into our lives every single day!  We can't wait to see what fun you'll bring this year!

    Adorable! Happy birthday, D! :) I gotta say, in that picture with the sticker on his forehead, he really reminds me of his mama!

    Hey - just because I used to wear random things (like crowns and tiaras) while doing house work....

    What cute pictures! I forgot how much they change in their second year. L is just starting to do some of the things you listed and now I am reminded of how much more we have to look forward to and also that I need to cherish her fading baby moments.
